  Let's Bowl
Save 10 2-liter pop bottles to set up bowling pin style. You can remove the labels, or leave them on. Tape a strip of masking tape around each bottle, and then decide which skill you want to focus on. Since my second-graders were having difficulty understanding contractions, I wrote a different contraction on each bottle. With a small soft ball, we began. I drew out 2 names--one to pick up the fallen bottles and give the bowler the contraction so the bowler could gain points by giving the two words that make up the contraction. The second name I drew out was the pin resetter and ball chaser.

BUT WAIT...THAT'S NOT ALL!
You can also practice math skills, language, states and capitals...anything you want to work on. Just remove tape and replace with desired skill.
