Egg Carton Golf

Use practice golf balls (the ones with the holes)...choose 3 different colored sharpies and write numbers all around the golf balls.  I used numbers 0-10.  Write answers on the ends of golf tees and put in a small cup.  I put 6 golf balls in an egg carton.  Have the student close the lid and shake up the balls.  There are many options:  Have them add the value of the exposed green numbers on each ball (or black numbers, or blue, etc...) Find the answer on the golf tee and put the tee in one of the holes on that golf ball.  Like I said, vary the operations.  You could make game cards that say things like:  add the exposed green numbers on each ball; add the exposed blue numbers, etc.  Subtract the smaller number from the larger number of the green numbers, blue numbers, etc.  I use this as a center, and have the students write the problems on paper so I can give a math grade, or extra credit, or a fun sticker, etc.  After all, that's Par for the course, wouldn't you say??
